My Little Fish

It seems like a lot has happened over the last two and a half weeks. David and I celebrated our 5th anniversary on June 4th and sent Zach to Grandma's house for a couple nights. We both took several days off work and just spent time at home together. We wanted to go down to St. George for some golfing and relaxing, but we're pretty poor right now. We dropped Zach off on Thursday night and picked him up Saturday night. He behaved well for Grandma and Grandpa and we took some much needed time off from him. On Friday we got up to meet with our HOA people about our backyard, waited for our phones to come from Verizon, and then went golfing at Mulligans. We just did their little par 3 and it was great weather. We had fun just spending the time together. After that we drove down to Orem and set up our new service with Verizon (yes on our anniversary...that was the day our T-mobile contract ended and we'd been waiting a LONG time to switch). After that we went to dinner at Cheesecake Factory, which was amazing, and went to see Shrek Forever After 3D. It's been a long time since either of us has seen a movie, let alone seen one together. After that we went home and just hung out watching tv and eating our cheesecake. It was a nice relaxing weekend for both of us, and neither of us wanted to go back to work on Monday. I can't believe it's been 5 years already, and it's definitely true that I love him more now than the day I married him. We've been through A LOT over the past 5 years, but we've stuck it out and held it together. He's an amazing man and I appreciate everything he does for me (despite the things he doesn't always do) and gave me an amazingly beautiful little boy. He's becoming such a great dad and I'm going to enjoy raising this little guy together. Love ya babe!!

Also over the past little bit, we had family come into town to visit. My aunt Pandy and her girls came to visit and we all went swimming on Tuesday evening. This was the first time taking Zach and I was hoping he would love it. I got him ready and put him down in the water, and he took right to it. That shouldn't surprise me considering his prenatal living arrangements. We swam until it got too cold, and he wasn't happy with mom trying to dunk him under the water. He seemed to have a blast and really enjoyed trying to drink the water and sucking the water off mom's shoulder. Swimming will get more fun for him as he gets older and is able to do more. I have a feeling he'll just be my little fish. I'll post some pictures as soon as I get them from my mom (somehow I forgot to take my camera with me).

We also had an appointment today with his nephrologist. He's gaining weight like a champ and I think the polycose has a lot to do with that. He's up to 14 pounds 12 ounces and jumped from the 2nd percentile up to the 4th. I can't remember what his length was but I believe it's still somewhere around the 10th percentile. We'll continue to follow up with lab work every month, and keep his meds where they are. Hopefully we can get him to start sitting up soon, and maybe he'll stop spitting up so much. We'll start him on solids and get him to start learning how to move the food around in his mouth and swallowing. It will definitely be fun with his bad gag reflex, but hopefully it'll all work out okay. We've pretty much had an appointment every month since he came home, and it will be strange to go two months without a weight update on him. Hopefully he keeps growing well and catches up to the rest of the kids his age. We're supposed to schedule another appointment with the craniofacial doctor to decide what to do about his crooked head sometime next month, so we'll just have to see what that brings.
