Okay, I know this is a little bit late, but I figure better late than never, right? With a party celebrating January and February birthdays today, I thought I'd make a posting about my wonderful, amazing mother and also share this quote as my "Quote of the Day"...
"A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts."
I think that my mom has got to be the best a girl could ask for. Even though she's always told me that she's "the meanest mom in the world", that is far from the truth. She is such a loving, generous, compassionate person. These must all be attributes that she received from her mother, and I can only hope that they don't skip a generation with me. She is truly my best friend, and as I get older that friendship only becomes stronger. There isn't a thing I can't tell her, and I know she won't judge me and will continue to love me unconditionally. She has done so many amazing things for me throughout my life, and especially over the last few years. She's there for me when I'm down, and always helps to pick me back up. Her faith and righteousness sets a wonderful example for me to strive towards. I'm so grateful that I had the priviledge of spending 5 of my 6 years of Young Women's with her as a leader. The girls she now leads in her stake don't know how lucky they are.
I wanted to take today to express my love and gratitude to her and wish her a very Happy Birthday! I know I could continue on and on about how wonderful she is, but if you've ever met her you don't need me to tell you that.
I love you Mom!!!
I just read your post this morning and now I can't stop crying. I love you, too, and can't believe what an amazing mom you've become!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I guess I can't post under my own name. Love, Mom
