Dads

One of my favorite things about my job is working in the well-baby nursery and giving new babies their first bath. On top of that, I really enjoy watching the many dads coming through with their new little additions. I will admit there are some days when I have a waiting list formed for babies that still need to be bathed and I have a dad come in who wants to do it all himself, I enjoy watching the bonding going on between these little ones and their dads, especially without the mom present. Even more so it can be such a treat to see how much love these dads have for their little girls. There is definitely a special bond between a father and a daughter.

The first man a little girl falls in love with is her Dad.

I must admit that my dad is pretty awesome. This man never ceases to amaze me. He has a great sense of humor, a kind heart, and a love for music that has been passed on to me. I still remember one day David and I came home to him standing in the living room singing karaoke into the TV remote. For some reason, David still chose to marry me. He also has a story about everything, and a bottomless pool of knowledge (a lot of which is useless). Whenever we have a question that we know my dad has the answer to, we joke about if we have the time it will take to receive an answer. The simplest question can turn into a 3 hour long conversation. It must be a dad thing.

Life doesn't come with an instruction book; that's why we have fathers.

Despite all the crazy, goofy things my dad does, these are the reasons why I love my dad the most. He has such a strong faith in the gospel and a wonderful testimony. I always know that I can turn to him for a blessing and he will know just the right things to say. I'm so greatful that he has shared all these wonderful qualities with me, and that he will also share with my children one day.

Thank you for everything you do Dad. I love you!!
