I hope you're not getting sick of the monthly updates on our little man because I love him too much to stop now. He is growing up so fast and changing fast from baby to toddler. Here's the list of things we're loving:
-Getting around the house like a champ these days. Such a fast crawler and is a pro at cruising around furniture. Too chicken to try to stand alone and gets mad at mom every time she makes him try.
-Still quite the mimic. Will find a way to imitate everything we're doing. I guess it's time to start watching what we say and do, especially if it's not something we want to see emulated.
-Starting to talk. He's started doing what his early intervention lady calls "jargoning". He jabbers on and on with inflections in his voice and occasionally it actually sounds like words. Tends to "repeat" what mom and dad say quite often. If you ask me, he's speaking 4 words: "hello" (either "hewhoa" or just "whoa") generally while holding a phone, remote, or just about anything up to his ear; says "yay" occasionally while clapping his hands; "vroom" while driving his cow (that's right I said cow) around the couch; and of course "da-da"
-Loves to dance, clap his hands, stick out his tongue. Just this weekend Auntie Sasha and Auntie Angela taught him how to "raise the roof". Also waves bye-bye.
-Still cannot eat any solid foods, but doing wonderful with the liquids. Drinks anywhere from 32-36 oz of milk, 16-24 oz of juice, and 32 oz of water every day. We had labs drawn this past month and the NP called to tell us his calcium and albumin levels went up (which could indicate dehydration) because he was too dry. If she wants to come make him drink more herself, she's more than welcome to. Also had a speech consult through early intervention to try to figure out this spitting up solids deal. He has severe reflux that causes him to reject textured foods because it causes him pain when he swallows. Started a treatment plan this last week. Hopefully we can decrease the vomiting and help him to start eating real food sometime in the near future.
-Loves getting into trouble. Likes to bang toys on the television and turn it off. Spreads dvds all over the house. And will crawl upstairs every chance he gets to either play with dad's bobble head dolls, get into the garbage, or the bottom drawer in the bathroom to spread q-tips all over the place.
Zachary is such a joy to have in our house and we love him to pieces. Even though he's started developing a little toddler attitude, he's good at finding ways to make it up to us.
