The Zoo

Last week we were sitting at home shortly after waking up on a beautiful day, when David decided it would be a great idea to take Zach to the zoo. I was really surprised to hear him make this suggestion and was more than happy to go along with it. The weather was wonderful and I knew because it was so early in the spring the zoo would be fairly empty, and I was hoping the animals would be active. So we got ready, packed up all our stuff and headed up to the zoo.

We were only able to get a picture of a good picture Zach as we put him in the stroller on our way in. He didn't want to cooperate with pictures on the playground and then we were taking pictures of animals, and then we lost all battery power. Here's the few pictures we did get.

Despite all the blank, confused stares we got out of him, I think he enjoyed himself. He hadn't had a nap and I think he was too busy absorbing all kinds of new things going to show any emotion. At least his mom and dad had fun!

Yeah we're pretty much obsessed with tortoises!

David's favorite animal. Not sure about the one licking the wall, but he seemed to be enjoying himself. This one eating was absolutely gorgeous. I loved his dark spots.

Three lazy tigers with the fourth one pacing.

So beautiful, and so cocky!
This was the point the camera died. Wish I could have gotten more pictures of the gorillas and monkies and such. We were really bummed the elephants and rhinos weren't out, but the new exhibit looks like fun when it finally finishes. You'll be able to watch polar bears, seals, and otters with an underwater viewing area. After we were done stalking all the animals we ate lunch and Zach had fun licking the salt off his french fries and then feeding it to the little birds scavenging below us.
